Presenting new clinical evidence at EWMA 2026

Care of Sweden participated in the EWMA 2026 conference in Bremen, one of the leading forums for wound management in Europe.

During the congress, we presented results from a clinical study on a self-adjusting autonomous mattress system – representing a step beyond traditional automated solutions. The study, conducted in Spain and led by Professor Joan-Enric Torra Bou, evaluated the performance of the CuroCell iA® system in real-world care settings.

The results showed that the majority of pressure injuries improved or healed over time. In addition, the system was highly appreciated by users, receiving strong ratings for usability and overall experience.

These findings highlight the importance of evidence-based solutions in pressure injury prevention. They also demonstrate how self-adjusting autonomous systems can support more consistent care while helping to optimise the use of healthcare resources.
