Optimal 5zon®

In our vision to eliminate pressure ulcers, we go beyond traditional methods and adopt a comprehensive approach to patient safety and well-being.

Optimal 5zon® is developed with the aim of promoting a good position in both sitting and lying positions, using our patented support function DuoCore® and a two-part foam core.

The mattress consists of two foam layers; a base mattress and an overlay mattress that are developed together to provide good comfort while creating an even pressure distribution.

This is the reason we have developed Optimal 5zon®, an innovative solution designed with our patented support function DuoCore® to enable bedridden individuals to carry out daily activities and maintain their quality of life.

Positioning and activities of daily living

Optimal 5zon® is developed with the aim of promoting a good position in both sitting and lying positions, using our patented support function DuoCore® and a two-part foam core.

For individuals who spend a significant amount of time in the care bed, it is crucial to have the right conditions to perform daily activities and maintain quality of life. The transition between lying and sitting positions in bed can pose significant risks for pressure ulcers and the body’s physiological position.

The transition between positions creates shear forces. With a two-part foam core, the two foam layers shift in relation to each other, and the shear forces occur between the two foam layers instead of between the skin and the surface. Shear forces not only pose a risk for pressure ulcers but can also be uncomfortable and painful over time.

When transitioning to a sitting position, it is common for the individual to shift and slide forward towards the foot end, affecting the individual’s body position in a sitting posture. DuoCore® is developed to provide support under the hamstrings and support the pelvis in an upright position, aiming to maintain a good body position.
