Positioning that stimulate and support breathing
Wokring together with caregivers to eliminate pressure ulcers remains an ongiong work carried out on several levels. One way of working towards this vision is to promote the general health of bedridden patients, by positioning with pillows in a lying position. This is done in order to strengthen the body's ability to prevent the development of, and/or recover from a pressure ulcer.
In following example Curera® Rectangular pillow and Curera ® Rectangular pillow 25x80 cm are used.
Four ways to use Curera® Positioning pillows
Bedridden patients who has difficulties breathing can be helped by position changes with the use of positioning pillows. Below you can get familiar with four solutions in which positioning pillows can help and stimulate breathing by providing varying degrees of support and relief for the lungs.
1. Reclining on back
Example: For breathing problems and general expansion of the lungs. Place the Curera Rectangular Pillows next to one another, behind the back, in combinition with a pillow under the head. vudet.
2. Reclining on back, T-position
Example: General expansion of the lungs in connection with breathing problems.
Place rectangular pillows in the shape of a T.
3. Reclining on back, A-position
Example: To expand the upper part of the lungs in connection with breathing problems. Support for parts of the shoulder blades and spine.
Place rectangular pillows in the shape of an A.
4. Reclining on back, V-position
Example: To expand the lower part of the lungs in connection with breathing problems.
Place rectangular pillows in the shape of a V.
